Crafting the First String

From Wood to Sound

Crafting a RamSagar is not a manufacturing process. It is a conversation with time.
Every instrument is handcrafted using traditional methodspassed down through generations of folk wisdom.
The process is intentionally slow.
Crafting The First String
The Making
Selection of Natural Materials Carefully chosen wood and gourd form the body —materials that breathe, age, and respond to sound.
02
Hand Shaping
The instrument is shaped entirely by hand, guided by touch rather than machines.

Why No Two RamSagars Are the Same

Because no two hands are the same.
No two days are the same.
No two journeys are the same.

Meet Dave
Every RamSagar carries:
This is why each instrument sounds slightly different — and why it feels deeply personal.
Craft as a Form of Respect
We believe craft is not about speed or perfection. It is about respect.
Respect for:
When you hold a RamSagar, you are holding more than wood and string.
You are holding:
a story,
a tradition,
and a way of listening.
A Living Tradition:
Crafting the first string is not about recreating the past. It is about carrying it forward with integrity.

Each RamSagar that leaves our hands
is an invitation to slow down,
to listen deeply,
and to keep India’s first sound alive.

Some instruments ask to be mastered.
RamSagar asks to be lived with.
And that makes all the difference.
